Just over a year after the tragedy of the Mottarone cable car (it was May 23, 2021), we are back to talk about the construction of the new ski lift.

The new Stresa-Mottarone cable car could come into operation in the first half of 2024. It was talked about last 21 September in a press conference, held in Stresa, which was attended by the mayor Marcella Severino, and Professor Angelo Miglietta, consultant for the reconstruction of the Mottarone cable car.
According to what was reported by Ansa, initially the cable car will connect the top of Mottarone with Stresa, but there is also the hypothesis that in the future they will try to make the connection also with Lake Orta. "We want to make the new plant - explained Professor Angelo Miglietta - a tourist attraction in itself, to complete the existing tourist attraction, namely Mottarone and Lake Maggiore".
The business plan also envisages expanding the tourist offer on the top of Mottarone and replicating the Trentino model which guarantees activities even during the summer season. An example to be inspired by could be the Malcesine-Monte Baldo cableway, one of the most modern and advanced cableway systems in the world, equipped with rotating cabins that allow you to have a splendid view of Monte Baldo and Lake Garda. Here in the summer you can practice various activities such as trekking, simple walking on the paths overlooking the lake, mountain biking and paragliding.
The Piedmont Region, which allocated 300 thousand euros, assigned the feasibility study of the new plant to the partner company "Monterosa 2000". On the table there are various for the construction of the new plant including the idea of building cabins for about 25-30 people or gondola lifts for about 8-10 seats.
