The Desarpa Bike, MTB race in Pila in the heart of the summer

The success, the reputation that the race was won between professionals and entry MTB Calendar National Marathon DH has prompted the organizers to forward to a time when the holidays are still in their full swing, Sunday August 23 .

Organized by UC Valle d'Aosta ASD in collaboration with the company Pila and the City of Gressan, this competition is characterized by gradient and length; it is perhaps one of the longest Marathon DH (2100 m.) held on the territory national. Spread over a distance of about 15 km, mostly downhill, half an hour estimated for the first competitors, 45 min. on average.
It permits the use of both the downhill bike is the one free ride. The race card may enroll the FCI, including those of the bodies of the Council.

Path
For 2009 editions Pila presents a new path entirely changed. The race will take place in a single run. The starting point is set at 2700 m. of Couis 1, reachable from Aosta using the facilities.First with the new Telecabina (opened in December 2008) and then with the chair of Chamolé and Couis 1, all plants are equipped to carry bikes (free of charge).

The upper part of the trail that branches off from Couis is completely new, then repeats some of the paths opened last summer, falling in the home of Stack up the ticket in a gondola, then up to half of the descent Pila-Aosta, then take a variant on the left, drawn expressly for the competition, allowing competitors to continue to the finish, placed at the area of sports Gressan, through the historic center of the country, where the public can encourage their pets in sprint.

The area team with all the services will be held at Les Iles of Gressan. From here, the cable car in Aosta you can reach by taking advantage of the bike path along the Dora until Suaza bridge.
