The Messner Mountain Museum, the museum project designed by mountaineer Reinhold Messner, from next summer is expanded with a sixth museum. Aside from that Sigmundskron (The Magic Mountain), Castel Juval (The Myth of the mountain), Solda (At the end of the world), Monte Rite (The Museum of clouds) and the Castle of Brunico (The peoples of the mountain) add the Messner Mountain Museum Corones that will be built right at an altitude of 2275 meters, at the top of Plan de Corones ski area that connects San Vigilio, Olang and Brunico.

The theme of this last project Messner Museum will be the Rock and the history of mountaineering and climbing.
The structure will be designed by the architect Zaha Hadid in collaboration with the Kronplatz Ski maps and will be divided into four levels: at the highest level there will be an entrance with your speakers and a small shop, while the lowest level of windows until you reach a terrace of about 40 square meters, from where they will enjoy the splendid panorama to 240 °, ranging from all'Ortles the Zillertal Alps, the Dolomites.
The overall movement of excavated material will be about 4,000 cubic meters. Thanks to the constructive solution underground, the Messner Mountain Museum Corones will enjoy both summer and winter of a constant internal temperature, thus allowing the optimization of energy efficiency.
