At the start the construction of the funicular railway from San Martino and Passo Rolle

The starting area was located downstream to the area northwest of the town of San Martino, in particular flat from the mouth of the valley formed by the Rio Brentel, parking near the existing municipal road that connects San Martin Ces to pasture. This location also allows adequate access from the center of San Martino.

The track runs parallel to Cismon, alternating sections open at times in the gallery, where, however, the visuals would have been precluded by the presence of vegetation or in areas where the morphological and environmental problems have caused the passage to the implant surface. The total length is about 3,800 m, including about 2,400 in the gallery and the remaining 1,400 outdoors. The difference is covered by about 500 m.

This localization allows the interchange with the system and ski resorts of Passo Rolle and promotes the usability of the system by those staying at a hotel in Passo Rolle.
The investment proposal for the construction of the funicular from the Province amounted to a total of 38 million euros, on the basis of estimated cost parameters.

The plan follows some of'approvazione week the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding signed in May between the Autonomous Province of Trento and the Community of Primiero, with which it was given the green light to the project, as part of a more general appreciation of the area.
