Moioli masterpiece in the Cortina night: Bankes beaten, cup reopened and now ... for the Olympic encore!

Snowboard cross: the Olympic champion and blue flag bearer triumphs in the last CdM race before the Games. Summit at the foot of the podium in the men's race won by the German Noerl.

A masterpiece a few days after the attempt at a legendary five-ring encore, preceded by the honor of playing the role of standard-bearer at the opening ceremony on February 4th. After Cervinia, Michela Moioli also conquers the second Italian stage of the Snowboard Cross World Cup, triumphing in the Cortina night, under the spotlight in the incredible scenery of the Socrepes Ski Area; the seventeenth pearl of the Bergamo champion in the maximum circuit is a very important signal also in terms of the Olympic Games, as Michela was able to stop the dominatrix of this season, the world champion Charlotte Bankes who maintains the top of the CdM ranking, but now with 93 points on the blue after finishing in third place a race that saw Moioli jump in the final Chloe Trespeuch, second ahead of the British while the Austrian Pia Zerkhold closed the big final in last place. Sofia Belingheri, the other blue in the final phase (Gallina and Carpano had finished the qualification in 20th and 21st position), went out instead in the quarterfinals.
