The two days of competitions obtained the green light directly from the International Federation (FIS) which followed the evolution of the Piancavallo situation step by step, constantly asking the organizers for updates on the conditions of the race track surface. Once reassured by the PromoTurismoFVG technicians that the entire surface of the Sauc, the track designated to host the competitions, respected the safety parameters imposed by the international regulation, and comforted above all by the lowering of the temperatures, the FIS inspectors decided to do not carry out the extraordinary inspection that should have been carried out today and only keep the formal one scheduled for the morning of Sunday 19 January. The confirmation of the dispute of the Piancavallo competitions was celebrated by the various authorities who intervened during the press conference. On this occasion, the rich program of competitions and collateral events that will animate the locality of the Pordenone area on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 January will be revealed. In Piancavallo over 250 people are expected, accredited among athletes, technicians and coaches representing 20 nations from 4 different continents. Great anticipation for the Italian team back from a start of the season full of podiums, with veteran Roland Fischnaller authentic dominator of the first World Cup races, who will present himself at the start of the Piancavallo races with the yellow bib of leader of the general classification, and with Davide Bagozza and Maurizio Bormolini, veterans from an extraordinary double in the last parallel slalom of the calendar before the weekend of the Pordenone. Sunday morning also, the helicopter of Elifriulia will enter the scene, which will allow you to admire from above the fantastic mountains that surround Piancavallo with a panoramic flight at high altitude. But that is not all. Saturday 25 January at the end of the parallel slalom races, the parterre will be transformed into a real open-air disco, thanks to the music of the numerous DJs of international fame who will take turns on the arrival parterre giving life to The Snowboard Weekend. And great news of the last minute is the prestigious collaboration with the Giro d''Italia which will color one of the two race courses pink, promoting the stage on May 24, which will start from the Air Force Base of Rivolto and will end with a spectacular uphill arrival in Piancavallo. But the synergy with the Giro d''Italia, the most important Italian sporting event, will also allow FISI snowboard athletes to enjoy the limelight on the occasion of the Friuli stage, with an interesting uphill challenge with pedal-assisted bikes among the various snowboarders.
