The high temperatures put the organizers of the Piancavallo snowboard World Cup stage in difficulty

The thermal inversion of the last few days is putting a strain on the organizers of the snowboard World Cup stage in Piancavallo on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 January.

In the last few days the temperatures recorded on the Pordenone plateau have practically never dropped below freezing, preventing the PromoTurismoFVG technicians from fully respecting the preparation program of the Sauc slope designated to host the snowboard competitions. The high temperatures in fact prevent the regular use of the snow cannons that have been moved en masse on the World Cup track to guarantee a mantle in compliance with the rules imposed by the International Federation. Despite the unfavorable weather conditions, the Piancavallo track workers are working overtime to allow the regular competition dispute. In fact, large quantities of snow have been moved from the other tracks and the idea of producing artificial snow at high altitude and then transporting it to the valley with cats is being evaluated. Among other hypotheses there is also that of moving the competition field from the Sauc track to the neighboring Casere2 which currently has a greater amount of snow. The FIS, which is in close contact with the organizers, has full confidence in the Piancavallo technicians and has allowed to postpone the control of the snow on the World Cup track for a week. Now the latest date to confirm or not the races is set for Thursday 16 January.
