Piancavallo binds to the Snowboard World Cup for the next two seasons

In its traditional spring meeting, held this year by videoconference, the FIS (International Ski Federation), presented the calendars of the various series, including that of the parallel snowboard World Cup. And the appointment with the stage of Piancavallo has been confirmed again in the calendar of the next two seasons.

The event strongly desired by PromoTurismoFVG, and organized by the Panorama Ski Club of Pordenone will be held on the snow of the Pordenone plateau from 13 to 14 March 2021, and from 12 to 13 March 2022 with the parallel slalom and team competition tests. A great satisfaction for Friuli Venezia Giulia and for Piancavallo, which goes to reward the enormous work carried out last January with the organization of the first edition of this important event. An event that despite the initial difficulties due to the lack of snow, fully accepted the needs of athletes, technicians and the international federation itself, which laid the foundations for making the appointment on the snows of the Pordenone area become a sort of "Classic" on the World Cup snowboard calendar. Compared to the last edition, the dates of the races have been postponed by about two months, this to allow the organizers to have more time available to adapt to the new guidelines foreseen for the big events in the presence of Covid-19. On the other hand, the organizational structure does not change, with PromoTurismoFVG which will once again be at the forefront in guaranteeing full support for the event which will in fact be the most important event of the winter season of Friuli Venezia Giulia. In addition to PromoTurismoFVG, there will also be the important guarantee of the Italian Winter Sports Federation, represented nationally by Enzo Sima, who, in addition to holding the role of Mountain Manager for PromoTurismoFVG, also holds the role of federal councilor with responsibility for snowboarding. At local level, coordination will be guaranteed by the provincial FISI of Pordenone which will involve all the main local ski clubs in the preparation of the important event and will provide a large number of volunteers. Among the main novelties of the 2021 edition of the Piancavallo World Cup there is the willingness of the organizers to link the competition more and more to the enhancement of Friuli Venezia Giulia, through a greater promotion activity and the involvement of the excellence of the territory like the consortia of Montasio and Prosciutto di San Daniele. A combination of sport and tourism that can bring great benefits and which above all fits fully with the objectives set by the "Montagna 365" recovery plan presented in October 2019 by PromoTurismoFVG. Appointment therefore for Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 March on the snows of Piancavallo with the spectacular parallel snowboard races and the team event.
