The live broadcast of the parallel slalom on Saturday 25 January with a commentary by Vezio Orazi and Marco Navarra, collected over 700 thousand viewers on the RAI sports channel with a total share of 1.07%, not so far from the 768,362 spectators reached in the same day of women's alpine skiing, which a few hours before the Piancavallo races had celebrated a splendid Italian hat-trick.
Really interesting numbers that have also been confirmed by the transmission of the Team Event on Sunday, which, although broadcast slightly on the air and in conjunction with numerous television broadcasts linked to the football championship, nevertheless collected 359,727 viewers with a share of 0.25%. .
An extremely positive and completely unexpected result from the organizers, also because on the eve of the races there was no comparison, since this season the parallel snowboard World Cup had never been broadcast live on television on the Raisport.
Alongside RAI, the Piancavallo World Cup was broadcast on a dozen foreign television stations, among which the state-owned TVs of Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Poland, Bulgaria and China and the specialized Eurosport TVs stand out. TV team (France) and NBC Sport Gold (United States). In Germany, moreover, Stefan Baumeister's successes in men's slalom and the German training in the Team Event were celebrated with a television report during the highly followed national evening news.
In terms of visibility and coverage, the excellent results obtained by the event on the main social networks are also reported. The stage of Piancavallo despite being a new entry in the international snowboard calendar, in a short time has become the most popular appointment of the entire world series with almost 3 thousand active fans distributed between Facebook, Instagram and Youtube, and with coverage indices on race days to be the envy of the most famous Alpine Ski World Cup competitions.
The wide appreciation of the public accompanied by the favorable opinion of the leaders of the International Federation, are pushing the organizers to think big in view of the next edition. The stage of Piancavallo has in fact already been included in the international snowboard calendar in mid-January 2021, but other competitions could also take place alongside the parallel competitions ...
