After the great organizational success of the Absolute Italian Championships, Piancavallo is now aiming to re-launch its bid to host a stage of the Snowboard World Cup.

The long tricolor week that saw all the best athletes on the Italian scene including the Olympic champion Michela Moioli, the parallel champion Roland Fischnaller and numerous foreign riders from Germany, Austria, Hungary, Canada and even South Korea and China, has crowned the Friulian town as an ideal place for the organization of international snowboard competitions.
The tracks in which the Italian championships were held as well as being optimally prepared by the organizers are, according to the Technical Director of the national team Cesare Pisoni, very similar to the Chinese of Secret Garden where the World Championships will be held in 2021 and where especially in 2022 the Olympic Games will be staged.
The technical delegate of the International Federation (FIS) Werner Steiner also confirmed the high technical nature of the Piancavallo tracks, which carried out an inspection of the tracks in the days of the championships to personally verify the characteristics of the Friuli routes.
The favorable opinion of the Austrian coach was joined by that of Alberto Schiavon, former leading athlete of the bordercross national team and now Assistant Race Director FIS for international snowboard cross races, which was positively impressed by the organizational capacity and the conformity of the Piancavallo slopes .

"
Piancavallo therefore continues to confirm itself as the center of Promoturismo reference for snowboard enthusiasts. The Friulian locality, after hosting in 2003 the competitions on boards of the Tarvisio Universides, will in fact be the scene of snowboard competitions for the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) in 2023, which will involve the entire Friuli Venezia- Giulia.
Should the snowboarding World Cup land in Piancavallo in the next few years, the Pordenone mountain will become one of the few Italian locations where competitions valid for the Alpine Skiing World Cup have been held over the years, for the freestyle World Cup over at the 2017 World Ski Mountaineering Championships.
