In Forni Avoltri the first stage of the Italian Biathlon Cup of the season

It will be the Carnia Arena International Biathlon Center in Forni Avoltri to inaugurate the season of the 2021-22 Italian Biathlon Cup circuit. The Federal Center located in Piani di Luzza will host the first stage of the national circuit which will see a large number of foreign athletes from Germany and even Australia at the start alongside the Italian athletes.

The event organized as usual by the ASD Monte Coglians in collaboration with the Sci Cai Trieste ASD and financed by PromoTurismoFVG, will also be an important test bench for the organizers in view of the EYOF 2023 whose biathlon competitions will take place in Forni. Avoltri. On this occasion, the Organizing Committee tried to bring a large number of volunteers closer to biathlon who will be fundamental for the success of the European Youth Olympic Festival. The competition program foresees on Saturday 11 December the dispute of the male and female sprint tests valid for the senior, junior and youth categories, while on the morning of Sunday 12 December the same categories will compete in the pursuit. Athletes will be able to familiarize themselves with the race track and with the new shooting range as early as Friday 10 December when the Carnia Arena opens for official training. In the competitive field there is great expectation to see some of the announced protagonists at the start, such as the South Tyrolean Federica Sanfilippo who will try to relaunch herself in Carnia to try to earn her place within the blue team of the World Cup. For men, eyes focused on the regional Daniele Fauner fresh from the first IBU Cup races of the season, and on the home athlete Nicola Romanin, who will have to compete with the equally favorites Saverio Zini, Simon Leitgeb and Cedric Christille. The entire event will take place behind closed doors in compliance with the rules laid down in the matter of Covid-19 by the FISI protocols. The two days of competitions in Forni Avoltri will be closely followed by Neveitalia.it, the reference portal in Italy for the world of mountains and winter sports, which for some years has been closely following the sporting events of the Carnic center and which also offers the webcam service of the structure.
