Beatrice Trabucchi wins the first Italian medal at the Junior Biathlon World Championships which opened yesterday in Obertillach.

The 20-year-old from Brusson (0-1-0-0) pays only one minute penalty in the first standing shooting range and ends her test with a 1.34.3 disadvantage from the winner, the French peer Camille Bede (0-0-0- 0), only 20/20 of the day. The silver medal goes to the twenty-one year old Slovak Henrieta Horvatova (0-1-0-0), already debut in the season in the World Cup, who precedes the blue by just 9 seconds.
Two errors at the last polygon deny Rebecca Passler (1-0-0-2) a place on the podium; the Silver in the Individual Youth last year must be satisfied with the tenth place at 2.26.1. Nineteenth Hannah Auchentaller (0-0-2-2) and twenty-ninth Gaia Brunetto (1-0-1-1).
