Biathlon: the Hochfilzen stage will take place behind closed doors

The lockdown on Austrian territory, in force since November 22, prohibits the presence of the public for sporting events.

For the second consecutive year the Hochfilzen stage will not be able to host spectators, due to the lockdown taking place throughout the Austrian territory. The decision seemed obvious, as all sporting events in Austria (until 12 December) will take place without the presence of the public. An ugly tile for the whole biathlon world, but above all for the numerous Austrian fans, who dreamed of being able to return after almost two years to admire the World Cup live. "We report with great regret that, due to the restrictions in contrast to Covid-19, the World Cup races, scheduled from 10 to 12 December 2021, will have to take place without an audience. We wish you to be able to follow us equally on TV, to support the big family of biathlon "- this is the message that appeared on the Facebook page of the organizing committee of the stage. The races in the Tyrolean town will be staged, as previously reported, from 10 to 12 December, unfortunately without the traditional large audience, which also for this season will not be able to fill the stands of the '' Langlauf und Biathlonzentrum Hochfilzen ''.
