Biathlon: Lisa Vittozzi, double call at the Swedish championships

The Sappada champion collects a double podium in the Idre races where Tommaso Giacomel also shines.

First competitive outing on the snow for the blue Biathlon and the first satisfactions arrive from the snows of Idre where the Swedish Championships were held. It is Lisa Vittozzi who puts her seal, a double seal; on Saturday the women's Sprint saw Linn Persson prevail who thanks to a 9/10 shot precedes an Elvira Oeberg (7/10) dominant on narrow skis by 5.1 seconds. The blue, with an error at the shooting range, had to settle for third place less than 15 seconds behind Persson. Dorothea Wierer is seventh after an error in the first shooting session. The youngest of the Oeberg sisters confirms that at this moment she is from another planet on skis also in the Individual (45 seconds by mistake) on Sunday; perfect shooting, Elvira is imposed with a minute and fifty seconds ahead of Lisa Vittozzi (19/20) who seems to have regained confidence and speed at the shooting range. An error, the second of the day, at the last target denies Hanna Oeberg the satisfaction of the second step of the podium and relegates her to third position 24 seconds from the blue. Three errors hold back Dorothea Wierer, still seventh. In the men's field the laurel of victory is divided between Sebastian Samuelsson, first in the Sprint, and Ponsiluoma, protagonist of the Individual. Excellent performance in the Sprint for Tommaso Giacomel who, with a 10/10 as the winner, is second at 18 seconds and precedes Martin Ponsiluoma (9/10) by 13 seconds. The twenty-one year old blue, with a 17/20, is the best of the Italians also in the individual where he closes in sixth position.
