After the victory in the Hochfilzen Pursuit, the Norwegian repeats herself in the first race on French soil. There are signs of recovery from Dorothea Wierer, with the first up to the last two targets, to close in nineteenth position.

Mars Roeiseland puts on an almost perfect race at Le Grand Bornand: with 100% shooting and among the fastest on skis where only the phenomenal Elvira Oeberg inflicts her 30 seconds late, the Norwegian imposes herself in the Sprint with 15.4 seconds of advantage over the French Anais Bescond (0-0) outclassing her in the release times at the shooting range. An impressive Elvira Oeberg misses twice in the shooting range on the ground but in the last lap she recovers twenty seconds at the transalpina, close to second place, and is third at 16.1 from Roeiseland.
Despite 100% shooting, Lisa Theresa Hauser fails to give herself a podium for her 28th birthday and closes in fourth position at 24.9, ahead of the Russian Reztsova (1-0) by 1.8 and the Belarusian Alimbekava by 9.8. The Belarusian Sola is seventh (1-1) at 37.8 ahead of Linn Persson (0-0), eighth at 39.9, Eder (1-0) at 41.7 and Hanna Oeberg (1-1) tenth at 42.4, 2.7 seconds ahead of Tiril Eckhoff (0-1).
Dorothea Wierer arrives at the second polygon 3.9 seconds from the first, perfectly in line with the podium positions, but ruins everything in the last two targets of the standing session closing at 1.03.6 from Roeiseland, two tenths better than Lisa Vittozzi (1- 1), respectively in nineteenth and twentieth position. Good return to the World Cup by Federica Sanfilippo (0-1) who closes at 1.27.7 in forty-third position, winning the right to participate in Saturday's Pursuit
