Blink Festival 2020: Knotten and Christiansen, good first

While the FISI has decided that winter athletes will not participate in any competitions until October 15, the summer season of Biathlon kicks off in Norway with the traditional Blink Festival.

After the opening cross-country race with the ascent of Lysebotn in which the biathletes also took part, a Supersprint took place yesterday in Sandnes which saw the victories of Karoline Knotten in the women's field and Vetle Sjastad Christiansen in the men's field. The 25-year-old from Tromsoe (2 + 0 + 1 + 1) precedes Mars Roeiseland (2 + 0 + 0 + 2) at the finish line by 4 seconds, who after an uphill start due to the double error seemed to have resumed command of operations until to the fatal double O in the last shooting session. Tyril Eckhoff absent due to a urinary infection, Ingrid Tandrevold (0 + 1 + 1 + 1) closes in third place 13 seconds behind the winner. In the men's field, Johannes Thingnes Boe makes good and bad times in the first three laps and then pays for his erratic shooting with 1 error in the third session and 2 decisive ones at the last shooting range and has to settle for fourth place, off the podium . On the top step rises Vetle Christiansen (2 + 0 + 1 + 1) preceding a couple separated only by the photo finish formed by Tarjei Boe (1 + 0 + 2 + 0) and the three-time junior world champion Vebjorn Soerum (2+ 0 + 1 + 0) second and third respectively 5 seconds behind Christiansen.
