From Bormolini the only happy note, but the Italy of biathlon is still dry: "I didn't manage the situation well"

Another difficult weekend for the Azzurri in Oberhof; the declarations of Livigno and Dorothea Wierer, 15th in today's chase, released to colleagues.

After the best performance of the season in the sprint on Friday, Thomas Bormolini finished today's chase in 14th place; a result clouded by the standing shooting session: “I am a tad bit sorry for the standing series from three errors. but I was unable to better manage the situation both emotionally and at the shooting range. Let's say that I have turned off my brain a little, too bad ”, commented the Livigno rider to Fondo Italia. Bormolini was in full battle for a position in the top ten. Overall, however, he is satisfied with the test, which ended with the best performance in his career in this race format: “I'm going away from Oberhof happy”, concluded the blue. Top 15 also for Dorothea Wierer, but with different expectations given the subdued performance in the session on the ground (five errors), before making a test of strength in the standing session, which ended with a 10 out of 10 for the comeback from 37 ^ to the 15th final position: “Too bad for the mistakes made in the first two series, I don't know how it is possible but they were all shifted to the left. I gave notches but I remained in the following shots always on the left, we will better analyze the situation with the coaches, I seemed to have taken care of them well. I'm happy to have found zero then standing up, I was pretty compact and I was lucky not to have found too much wind, so zero was feasible ”, Dorothea told“ Biathlon Azzurro ”. Given the starting position, Wierer could hope to get the first podium of the season, which is still lacking for a national team that is objectively under expectations in this first part of the season. With Oberhof behind them, the Azzurri are ready to redeem themselves in the next stage in Ruhpolding, scheduled from 12 to 16 January.
