Desthieux and Bescond win the sprints of the French championships, bad Martin Fourcade

After a period of intense training in the Oberhof (Ger) ski tunnel, the French biathlon national team met at La Féclaz (Fra) where this summer's national biathlon summer championships are held.

This morning the event's program was opened by the female sprint that saw Anaïs Bescond's assertion, also won at Arçon last month. Despite the victory, at the end of the race, the athlete of Aunay-sur-Odon did not show himself too satisfied with his performance, especially with regard to the shooting phase in which he missed three targets. Square of honor for Julia Simon, third Justine Braisaz. They have closed behind two illustrious names, Marie Dorin Habert 6a and Anaïs Chevalier 11a, both returning to the races. Around 12 was the turn of the male sprint. At the end of the competition, a bit surprised, the title went to Simon Desthieux. Behind him are two outsiders, Antonin Guigonnat and Clement Dumont. Hard day for Martin Fourcade, 11th on the finish line and author of a good test at the polygon, 9 out of 10 for him, but not as satisfactory in the skiroll section. The Pyrenean champion then claimed to have been ill in the last two days and had even struggled to finish the race, still questioning his participation in the pursuit of tomorrow.
