This morning the CNOSF, the French Olympic Committee, announced that biathlete Martin Fourcade will be the flag carrier of France at the opening ceremony of the XXIII Winter Olympic Games.

Last week, in an interview with L'Equipe, Fourcade had been available for that assignment. The Pyrenees gather the legacy of the Lamy-Chappuis Combatist, a flag carrier in Sochi 2014. It is the right acknowledgment to one of the best biathlon champions and all-round winter sports.
