Yesterday at Jablonec nad Nisou was the scene of the now-traditional Czech Mountain Bike Biathlon championship. This is a competition in which the bottom is done using mountain bikes instead of skiing (or the skiroll, given the period). The winners were the same as last year.

In the female field, athletes met in a mass start on the distance of 6 km and the two polygons. Gabriela Koukalova has immediately imposed all his opponents on the rhythm, taking the lead in the operations. However after landing, where he made a mistake, he was reached by Lea Johanidesova.
Gaby, however, went on with his step and, having found the zero on his feet, went to success. From his statements it seems that standing shooting is one of the components on which he is working most: "I changed the rifle kick, the goal is to have a more compact and therefore more stable position."
Asked in the spring, the 27-year-old Czech explained that he had followed a completely different program than in 2016: "Last year I stopped completely for 6 weeks and when I went back to training I had pain everywhere. So I wanted to avoid that suffering, remaining far more active on the physical plane. In this respect, riding on mountain bikes is fun, off-season is so long ... "
However, Marketa Davidova's remarkable step, at least on two wheels, has to be noted. The 20-year-old finished fourth, with a slip from third-ranked Veronika Vitkova, despite missing the beauty of six goals!
The male test - on the distance of 9 km - went to Ondrej Moravec, who had to fight with a surprise opponent. In fact, two-thirds of the competition has seen dances led by the very young Jakub Stvrtecky. The 18-year-old was wrong twice as he had to surrender success to the well-known fellow countryman, while singing in the pitch.
Moravec has stated that "Kuba (diminutive of Jakub, ndr) has made an awesome race. Simply no one was able to keep his pace. I also deserve the teen's unconsciousness, I'm no longer on mountain biking that way! I prefer taking less risks. At least the polygon turned out to be decisive, and there I was able to make a difference. " The podium was completed by the other veteran Michal Slesingr.
