Giacomel leads the Italian patrol in the Pokljuka Sprint: startlist and Azzurri at the start

Second day of competitions in Slovenia before the Pursuits on Saturday and the medley relays, the first of the season, on Sunday. It's the men's turn, engaged in the fourth Sprint of the season: it starts on Friday at 2.20 pm with the young Trentino captain captaining the Azzurri.

As known, Lukas Hofer will not be there, still struggling with physical problems in the hope of returning to the World Cup between Ruhpolding and Anterselva, the two great classics that will precede the Oberhof World Cup. Together with Tommaso Giacomel, at the start in the first group with bib number 22, there will also be Didier Bionaz (40), looking for certainties after a complicated first part of the season, the returning Patrick Braunhofer (73) and David Zingerle (81), confirmed in CdM after the December stages. In the pits, as well as Captain Hofer, also Daniele Fauner, struggling with the flu. For him, a recovery in view of Ruhpolding seems probable. The Austrian Felix Leitner will open the race, ahead of Doll (2) and Fabien Claude (5). First group also for Samuelsson (14), Fillon Maillet (21), Ponsiluoma (25), Laegreid (29) and Johannes Boe (31). After the World Cup leader here are Christiansen (34) and Jacquelin (37). In the second group all eyes on Tarjei Boe (41), Andersen (43) and Johannes Dale (47).
