The Soldier Hollow Biathlon World Youth Championships opened with the dispute of the Youth Individuals, Under 18. Nicolò Betemps tenth and Ilaria Scattolo twelfth are the best of the Italians.

In the women's field it is not enough for the seventeen-year-old German Iva Moric to shoot 20/20 to win the Gold medal; the Swedish Sara Andersson is decisamernte the fastest on skis and despite 3 shooting errors she imposed herself with 9.8 seconds advantage, Bronze, with 2 penalties, at 17.0 for the German Selina Grotian with Germany who also places Tannheimer in fifth position.
Ilaria Scattolo (0-0-1-1) is in the race for medals for the first half of the race and closes in twelfth position at 3.11.9; sister Sara (1-2-1-2) is fifteenth at 3.40.1. Twenty-seventh position for Fabiana Carpella (1-2-2-1) at 5.24.4
