Shoulder surgery for Lukas Hofer

Hofer will undergo an intervention to solve the problems that affected him last season with a great desire to restart

The carabiniere from Brunico has decided to go under the knife to solve the physical problem during this off season to present himself at the starting gates next season in a better condition. Interviewed by FondoItalia, he released his statements to their microphones: «I can't wait to be able to make this intervention, because it was not easy to always have this annoyance and pain. I can't wait to start training again for next season. Despite the problem, the last season was still decent even if with many ups and downs ». Despite this and his age, Hofer is looking forward to next season with optimism considering that he is now the oldest blue in the group. The most expert who will drive the new generation of young people like Giacomel and Bionaz. Consequently, the retirement is not part of his current plans: “I am now the grandfather of the team, Domi has left me the role of the old man of the group, indeed I am among the oldest in the World Cup. At the moment, however, I still feel that I still have great desire, a lot of ambition to do well and I can't wait to start again ”. A good time to think about themselves after the season finale in crescendo, especially thanks to the podium achieved in the chase at Kontiolahti. After the race held last week in honor of his friend and colleague Dominik Windisch who recently announced his retirement from competitions, Hofer will take this long summer period for a well-deserved rest in anticipation of next season.
