Italy with Bionaz and Giacomel: the start list of the Kontiolahti men's relay

If the experiments in the women's team have brought Italy back to the podium after more than three years, the hope is that men will also be able to follow up on the triumphal week (not only in the World Cup) of the blue biathlon. Given the numerous absences among the top nations, the occasion could be tempting, but the most realistic goal remains the entry into the top 5.

As at the Olympic Games, Thomas Bormolini will be at the launch of the Italian relay. Second stage instead for Lukas Hofer, who will pass the baton to Didier Bionaz and Tommaso Giacomel, who will be engaged in the delicate role of finalizer. Absent therefore Dominik Windisch who, if in the Chinese version, could have given an extra something to the blue quartet. With the absences of weight of Ukraine, Belarus and above all Russia interesting scenarios open up for the fight for the podium. Favorite seems to be France, which is almost complete with Guigonnat, Jacquelin, Desthieux and Fillon Maillet. However, the Norge formation has been greatly reworked. Having to do without the Boe brothers, there will in fact be Bakken and Filip Andersen in the first two stages, with Laegreid and Christiansen closing. Sweden is also very competitive, once again playing Ponsiluoma and Samuelsson in the second part of the match, to give space to Femling and Nelin in the first. Lesser's Germany could fight for the podium, having announced the retirement at the end of the season. Joining him will be Rees, Doll and Nawrath. Here the complete start list!
