The Fisi has published the official documeno where are explained the qualification criteria for joining the Italian team in Sochi 2014.

'' The Italian can enroll at the XXII Olympic Winter Games 5 men and 5 women. Obviously in the individual events there will be a maximum of 4 bibs available.
Men and women will get the "automatic qualification" if they meet at least one of the following criteria in the first six stages of the World Cup.
A) 1 place in the top-10 in individual races Cup Mondo.B) 2 placings in the top-15 in individual races Cup Mondo.C) placed 4 in the top-20 in individual races Cup Mondo.D) 1 podium in a staffetta.E) Be among the first 30 in the overall World Cup to 01/20/2014
Any places not allocated through automatic qualification will be decided by a technical choice of the direction competitive.
Athletes will not collect points in the World Cup will not be considered for participation in the Olympic Games, if not exclusively as a possible completion for the quartet of the relay.
