Johannes Boe: "Fourcade's presence motivated me. Now it will never be the same"

Johannes Boe suffers from the lack of Fourcade in CdM and confesses that the opponent has been a cornerstone of his professional growth without taking anything away from his current opponents.

Three-time biathlon CdM winner Johannes Boe made statements to the IBU on the importance of Martin Fourcade in his professional evolution and the retirement of the Frenchman that has morally conditioned him starting from the 2020-2021 season "The presence of Martin motivated me, forced me to improve myself before and during the race. It was at such a level that you had to go beyond your limits." Now, for Boe there are no real reasons to improve and train at a higher regime, so much so that he suffered a lot from the absence of Fourcarde, his real opponent in the early years of his career: "Martin's farewell has changed things inside of me, there is no opponent of the same level, now there are good guys and it will never be the same again. " Now, however, the Norwegian who managed to win the CdM at the last minute after retiring from the transalpine competitions, is also the driving force of a group of athletes who try to worry him season after season. Among the many are Sturla Laegreid, Quentin Fillon Maillet, Sebastian Samuelsson, Emilien Jacquelin and Vetle Sjaastad Christiansen and he will still have to try to drive away the various thoughts to be overflowing as he has already shown in the past.
