Johannes Boe returns to the 2019 rifle?

In an interview collected by the Norwegian site VG on the occasion of the Holmenkollen Skishow, the Norwegian champion talks about how he is preparing for the Olympic season.

After a season in which he defended the World Cup defending himself until the last race from the attack of the young Sturla Holm Leigreid, Johannes Thingnes Boe is not neglecting any detail in the march towards the Beijing Olympics where he aspires to be the 'man of the Games after PyeongChang 2018 when, on an individual basis, he had to "settle" for the Gold medal in the 20 km. In the last season, the Norwegian champion saw his shooting performance drop to 83.8% after being very close to 90% in the previous season, where he reached the pinnacle in his shooting precision that for five years had never dropped to the below 85%. One of the reasons may have been the sudden change of rifle in the weeks leading up to the World Championships. "It would be better this time to make a decision at the latest after the first stage of OstersunD" declares Johannes who admits to having worked a lot on the rifle in recent weeks and to have more and more confirmations that he is more comfortable with the version of the 2019 season / 2020 also for what concerns the stock and the position of the strap. Nothing is left to chance with the use of television images from recent seasons to compare technique and execution. These will not be the only changes for Johannes Boe who has already moved with his family to Kongsvinger where his new home with a private gym is under construction and, when Norwegian law permits him in autumn, a personal hypobaric chamber. An arrangement that allows him to do 11-12 training sessions a week without leaving his wife and son Gustav. Like last year, the Norwegian decided to skip the altitude meeting in Lavazè with his teammates and will see him again in the race in August for the Blinken Festival.
