Italy challenges the superpowers with an unpublished couple, the Single Mixed of Pokljuka starts at 11:45

After the Sprints and the Pursuits, in Pokljuka it is the day of the Mixed Relays, which will close the fourth stage of the World Cup. It starts at 11:45 with the Single Mixed, while at 14:25 it will be the turn of the Mixed Relay, where the Italbiathlon plays its best cards.

In the pairs event, the blue team lines up Patrick Braunhofer, back from two good performances in the points here in Pokljuka, and Rebecca Passler: an unprecedented couple, young but with the right characteristics to aspire to a good placement. The two young carabinieri will start as outsiders, since at least four other nations will be at the start with better credentials, but watch out for surprises. Among the favorites there are certainly the Norwegians Christiansen and Tandrevold, the Swedes Samuelsson and Persson and the Austrians Eder-Hauser. Eyes also focused on France, which is playing almost everything in the Mixed Relay to scalp Norway, but in the Single Mixed fielding the Guigonnat-Jeannonnot couple. Germany starts a step behind with Hettich-Walz and Strelow, while the Swiss team could give big surprises with the young Hartweg and Baserga. In the last precedent in Pokljuka, on the occasion of the 2021 World Cup, France won ahead of Norway and Sweden. Last year however, in the two Single Mixed contested between Oberhof and Otepaeae, six nations took turns on the podium, with Norway and Russia dominating.
