After a season of hiatus due to the pandemic, the Biathlon World Cup returns to France. Tomorrow, at 14:15, the German Denise Herrmann will open the dances of the women's sprint; the leader of the general classification, the Norwegian Mars Roiseland, chose the number 32. High bibs for the blue.

From Hochfilzen to Le Grand Bornand, the biathlon caravan makes a stop on French soil, in the place where the legend Martin Fourcade grew up both sporting and humanly. The program includes three races for men and three races for women: a sprint (women tomorrow and men on Friday), the pursuit (both scheduled for Saturday) and the mass start (scheduled for Sunday).
Tomorrow we start with the women's sprint: most of the big names have chosen low bibs. At 2.15 pm, the German Denise Hermann will be the first to start. The startlist immediately promises a great show: among the first ten starters we find the German Preuss (3), the leader of the specialty, the Belarusian Sola (5), the home athlete Braisaz-Bouchet (8) and the holder of the Italian Cup. Tiril Eckhoff World (10).
Number 12 for the Austrian Lisa Hauser, 14 for Bescond and 15 for Tandervold. The Swedish Hanna Oeberg, winner of the Oestersund sprint this season, will start with the number 17. The Belarusian Alimbekava will instead wear bib number 24, 27 instead of the Slovakian Fialkova; the leader of the World Cup Mars Roiseland, yellow bib, will start for 32nd, in search of the third victory of the season. Bib number 35 for the Czech Marketa Davidova.
The two big blue will start further back; Lisa Vitozzi will be at the start with bib number 36, while Dorothea Wierer will start, even for the sixtieth. A very particular choice for the Italian team, which only the snow and the shooting range will be able to confirm or deny. Number 87 for the rookie Linda Zingerle, for the nineteen year old from South Tyrol it is the first race of her career in the World Cup. The last of the blue to leave will be Federica Sanfilippo, a seasonal debut for her too, at the start with number 103.
