The FISI communicated the composition of the national teams for the season 2017-'18. There are some surprises in the biathlon, as well as a remarkable investment in the youth sector.

As for the World Cup team, the only changes affect the women's sector, where the number of actuals has been reduced from 6 to 4. Compared to the winter just ended, Karin Oberhofer and Nicole Gontier are missing. The 29-year-old South Tyrol is in a sweet wait and should be born in the summer, but apparently will have to (possibly) prepare for the Olympic year in autonomy. Instead, the 4 members of the men's team are unchanged.
She resumes female B team, retiring Gontier from the highest level and adding Geneva Rocchia, the past year away from federal cadres. Among the males the elements are always 5, but with a change. Paolo Rodigari takes over Andrea Baretto.
The junior team is fully confirmed, but the youth sector numbers are being expanded, as this team has decided to match a second level that is a container for many other kids.
Some adjustments also in staff, at least as far as team B, which will be entrusted to Klaus Höllrigl, who replaces Moreno Montello. The 36-year-old South Tyrol will be supported by confirmed Nicola Pozzi.
It does not change anything in the other levels. Under Fabrizio Curtaz's technical director's umbrella, Team A's coach remains Patrick Oberegger, always assisted by Patrick Favre and Andreas Zingerle.
For the younger, Alex Inderst will remain the manager, working with Michela Ponza, Samantha Plafoni and Nicolò Maule.
