After the first duel in Oestersund, the challenge between the two leading nations of the men's sector is renewed, with the French favorites on paper. Italy, without Lukas Hofer, is still trying to improve the position obtained in Sweden, but the opponents will not fail.

The Azzurri will be at the start with the same quartet that competed a week ago, with the exception of Lukas Hofer, recovering from an annoying cold. In its place will be the young Didier Bionaz. After 8th place in Oestersund, Italy will try to climb some positions: it will be essential to have good materials and limit the use of refills. Among the direct opponents, attention should be paid to the emerging Belarus, the ever-fearsome Ukraine and Russia, already on the podium this season. If Norway, France and Sweden seem unattainable, Germany too here in Hochfilzen has shown that they have podium ambitions, galvanized by Johannes Kuehn's success in the Sprint.
