"I lived a career competing with Bjorndalen, Fourcade and Bo. In my opinion the most complete was Martin Fourcade; when I made my debut in the World Cup, biathlon was slightly different: you could have been less competitive either shooting or skiing, now you have to be competitive on both things, in fact you risk less at the shooting range for this reason "- he explained talking about the great champions with whom he had the honor of competing.
A season, this, did not start in the best way, however: "Unfortunately in the pre-season training camp in Oberhof, at the end of October, I contracted covid. This thing, in addition to making me lose precious days of training, also took away a little '' of tranquility; fortunately I recovered well and, except for some saturation problems, I returned to an acceptable condition ".
Young people are also growing, in an increasingly competitive Italian team: "Tommaso (Giacomel) and Didier (Bionaz) are two interesting young people and are improving from race to race; Bormolini is also doing very well in this first part of the season. They are important. the good results of all, because they push the whole team to do more and more ".
In conclusion, a thought on the current situation: "We are lucky to be able to compete, just see what is happening also in alpine skiing with the postponement of Wengen. We must be careful but it is right to continue, since we have the possibilities and out of respect for those who he cannot work because of this pandemic, even if only to give a moment of leisure and give some satisfaction to those who are forced to home, and I hope already from Wednesday to be able to make the fans rejoice in front of the TV ".
