A day of joy but at the same time of pain for the blue biathlon. Shortly after the victory of Lisa Vittozzi in the Sprint of Oberhof (Ger), the news of the death of the young South Tyrol biathlete was published.

Hannes, originally from Val d'Ultimo, was 18 and attended high school in Val Gardena. At the moment the causes that led to the disappearance of the boy, considered as a promise of the Italian biathlon, are not known.
Initially its name had been widespread regarding the accident in snowboarding occurred on the slopes of Courmayeur, however the two events do not seem to be related.
