Approaching the day Magdalena Neuner will be introduced to the German Sports Hall of Fame. Interviews with the Bavarian thirty are thus multiplying. In a conversation with Esslinger Zeitung, the teutonic champion returned to why he chose to practice biathlon, which became one of the greatest performers in history.

"As a child I tried cross-country skiing, tennis and taekwondo, then when I was 9, I discovered the biathlon, it was love at first sight, at that moment I realized I wanted to be a professional. My teachers were smiling.
By adolescent I did a course as a secretary and I did a week's test at a company. It was the worst week of my life! There I realized I could never work in the office. I just wanted to do sports. I enrolled in customs officers and I became a biathlete in all respects. Fortunately it worked, I never had a B plan for my life.
I am very happy that this has gone as well because I keep many beautiful memories of my career. The most beautiful are probably tied to Vancounver 2010, climbing the highest pitch of the Olympic podium was an amazing feeling. Certainly there were also difficult times, especially with enthusiasts too exuberant, so that some cases have ended up in court. Or death threats during the 2012 World Cup when I was escorted by the police. Anyway, I'm definitely more positive about the negative ones and I think about my agonistic activity with great pleasure. "
