An extremely important recognition for the former German biathlete who, together with the cestita and the beach volleyball couple, was named "German sport legend of the decade".

Magdalena Neuner ended her career in March 2012, at the age of 25, after having won practically everything. Three Olympic medals, seventeen world championships, sixty-two podiums in the World Cup seasoned with thirty-three victories and the conquest of three overall World Cup rankings; a palmarès that speaks for itself, that of the three-year-old native of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, who even after retirement remained in the hearts and minds of all German fans and not just winter sports.
The poll that decreed the victory of the German champion was conducted by the TV station ZDF. Neuner won in the women's category, where she collected more than half of all the total votes, clearing the second place, the tennis player Angelique Kerber.
In the men's category success for basketball player Dirk Nowitzki, who got the better of gymnast Fabian Hambuechen.
As for the "teams" sector, the beach volleyball duo composed of Laura Ludwig and Kira Walkenhorst was awarded.
