Martin Fourcade never stops: "Monsieur Le Biathlon" trains with the pros on the Pyrenees

The transalpine champion, who retired last March, cycling on the great climbs together with the riders of the Arkéa-Samsic and the B&B Hotels-Vital Concept, teams that are preparing the Tour de France.

"Monsieur Le Biathlon" is still ... in better shape than ever. More than four months after his farewell to his world, at the age of 31 and after having written some of the most beautiful pages in the history of the discipline (5 Olympic gold medals, 7 consecutive World Cup general and ... all the rest), Martin Fourcade is having fun riding a bicycle. On holiday with the family on "his" mountains, he Catalan from the eastern Pyrenees, the transalpine champion has trained in these days together with the professionals of two French Professional teams who are preparing the next Tour: such as the B&B Hotels-Vital Concept, which welcomed Fourcade in the retreat of Argelès-Gazost, to then face the various climbs of that area of Occitania, the home of Martin. On Saturday, however, climbing to over 2200 meters of altitude of Col de Tentes for the French champion, together with the boys of Arkéa-Samsic; Nairo Quintana, the captain of the Breton team for the Grande Boucle and training on the French Riviera, was not there, but on the other hand Fourcade managed the rhythm of the various Bonnamour, Delaplace, Guernalec, Le Roux and Swift. And the pace was said to be anything but low ...
