Biathlon World Cup: Wierer, "This silver for the team"

Dorothea Wierer and Lukas Hofer won the Silver medal in the first edition of the Single Mixed relay World Championships. Gold Medal for Norway, Bronze for Sweden.

"I am very happy. I managed to shoot a little better, faster and without thinking, also because there was no wind and it was also what gave me a little 'insecurity in the last few days", are the first words by Dorothea Wierer reported by the FISI Press Office. "Lukas and I confirmed ourselves as a solid team [editor's note: this year the couple was awarded the Christmas event in Gelsenkirchen and the Soldier Hollow World Cup test], it was certainly a good performance. We know we have a good condition on skis, only the polygon was missing, but today there were perfect conditions, we hope that it will be the same also in the coming days. This silver is for the team ". Lukas Hofer echoes it, at the first world silver medal in his career: "When you reach the finish line with a margin of advantage over who is behind as big as I was today, there is nothing to do but have a big smile printed on the face. We have always shown that we can play it until the end and this medal has confirmed it. Now there are still two races, on Sunday in the mass start I will give everything until the end and we'll see what comes out ".
