The Summer Biathlon World Championships kicked off today in Ruhpolding which from tomorrow will also involve Wierer, Vittozzi, Giacomel and Bionaz in the major category.

The opening round, the Super Sprint Junior, did not, however, see the young blues involved in the meeting in Obertillach.
In the men's field, the world title went to 21-year-old Lithuanian Maksim Fomin (0-0-0-0), fresh from his World Cup debut in the last two stages of the last season, who preceded the 18-year-old German in the standings by 21.3 Fabian Kaskl (2-1-0-0) and 23.6 the American peer Maxime Germaine (3-0-1-1).
The German flag rises on the highest flagpole in the women's Super Sprint thanks to 21-year-old Selina Marie Kastl (1-1-0-1), multiple medal winner in the relay races at the World Youth Championships. The Bavarian preceded by 26.9 the 19-year-old Slovenian Lena Repinc (1-0-0-1), dominator of the Youth World Championships in 2021 with the victory in Obertillach in Sprint and Pursuit and Silver in the Individual. The Bronze medal, with a delay of 38.1 is won by the Bulgarian Lora Hristova (1-2-2-0).
