After winning the opening Super Sprint, Dorothea Wierer wins, in the wet Ruhpolding. the Mass Start that closes this edition of the Summer World Championships in the women's field.

The blue (1-0-0-0), after the error at the first polygon, finds himself chasing the German Denise Herrmann (0-0-0-1), nibbling seconds on the ski-rolls and at the polygon up in the final shooting session where Herrmann's error allows him to overtake Dorothea Wierer who defends in the last lap while maintaining a 10 second lead.
The third place goes to Marketa Davidova (1-0-0-1) 30.9 seconds behind the winner, fourth at 57.3 the Swedish Mona Brorsson (0-1-0-1) while a not very precise Lisa Vittozzi (0-1-1 -1) limits the damage with a fifth place at 1.20.2 and precedes Elvira Oeberg by 6 seconds (1-2-1-0).

Alla Gazzetta dello Sport, il direttore tecnico della nazionale femminile ha aggiunto qualche dettaglio sui motivi del rientro anticipato di Sofia dal Sudamerica, rinunciando al blocco in Cile che era previsto dopo quanto di buono fatto per due settimane abbondanti a Ushuaia specialmente sul gigante. Nelle prossime ore gli accertamenti medici: Non li abbiamo fatti in Argentina perchè non c'era la possibilità di approfondire al meglio.
