The 'Olympian of Nagano '98 (triumphed in the individual) lost his life today, in his home in Oslo; married to his Canadian colleague Sandra Keith, the Scandinavian champion had two children and had always remained in the environment, even after the withdrawal in 2010, at the end of a career of the highest level.
In addition to the pearl of the title with five circles, he won two other Olympic gold medals in relay, as well as 3 world titles (individual in 2003 and two others in relay, in 2005 and 2009) and other medals between the Games (one silver and one bronze) and world competitions with two other silvers and two bronzes.
