Ten called up for the Games in China: the director Bionaz will bring five men (Hofer, Windisch, Bormolini, Giacomel and Bionaz) and as many women, with Dorothea (in search of the first individual Olympic medal) flanked by Vittozzi, Sanfilippo, Comola and Carrara.

Italy presented the Olympic contingent of the national biathlon team in the evening. 10 athletes will take part in the Beijing 2022 review, divided equally between 5 men and 5 women. No sensational surprises compared to the World Cup, with a collective that is a mix of experience and youth ready to hope for some medals. The top athletes are certainly Wierer, Hofer, Windisch and Vittozzi, but the further positive note is the good form of Thomas Bormolini, capable of good performances in recent weeks.
Dorothea Wierer, on the other hand, has regained the polish of the old days, thanks to the very recent victory in Anterselva and the conquest of the specialty red bib in the mass start. The South Tyrolean remains the most important card of the blue team in the hunt for an Olympic gold never arrived. Hofer and Windisch can provide their experience in these prestigious contexts, especially for the opening mixed relay. The competition is fierce, but in the past they have already been capable of nothing short of amazing performance.
Lisa Vittozzi will have to regain shooting accuracy, especially on the ground, and then here are the young Comola and Carrara alongside a highly experienced athlete like Sanfilippo (who can be fundamental in the relay), while at the male level there will be Didier Bionaz and Tommaso Giacomel, now on a permanent basis among the "greats" and of course at his Olympic debut.
