Pokljuka 2021, the second week of competitions begins: Vittozzi opens the women's Individual, Wierer with 10

After a day of rest the biathlon world championships resume in Pokljuka. Tomorrow at 12:05 the girls will take to the track for the 15 km, the third race in four days, before leaving room for the men on Wednesday and returning to the stage again on Thursday in the Single Mixed.

The first to take off will be Lisa Vittozzi, fresh from a very complicated Pursuit, during which the ghosts that haunted her during the season returned to the shooting range. With the 10 it will be the turn of Dorothea Wierer who, after the splendid comeback with fourth place finish on Sunday, is immediately called to defend another title won last year in Anterselva. The 15 km is the "queen" race for Doro and for Italy in these world championships and the South Tyrolean champion seems to have overcome the physical problems that have slowed her approaching the most important event of the season. For Italy, Michela Carrara (46) will also be at the start, with points also in the Pursuit and with the dream of Mass in the lead, Irene Lardschneider (79) and Federica Sanfilippo (91). In the first group, Hanna Sola (4), Anais Chevalier (5), Franziska Preuss (12), Hanna Oeberg (22) and Lisa Theresa Hauser (25) will also start. With bib 33 it will be Denise Herrmann's turn, who will be on the track a couple of minutes before Mars Roeiseland. The Norwegians have chosen to mix the cards by opting for the second group. Roeiseland will therefore have 36, Eckhoff 45 and Tandrevold 56. Shortly after it will be the turn of Anais Bescond (59).
