With just under a week to go before the annual World Team Challenge exhibition in the Schalke 04 stadium, the organizers have announced the last couple to participate in the event. These are the Norwegians Vetle Sjastaad Christiansen and Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold.
The Norwegian giant was the winner in 2019 paired with Marte Roeiseland while the biathlete from Baerum is in her first participation. Thus, there will be 10 competing couples from nine nations divided as follows: Denise Herrmann/Wick with Benedikt Doll and Philipp Nawrath with Vanessa Voigt for Germany, Mari Eder and Tero Seppala for Finland, Lisa Theresa Hauser with Felix Leitner (reigning champions) for Austria, Marketa Davidova and Michal Krcmar for the Czech Republic, Lena Haecki-Gross with Joscha Burkhalter for Switzerland, Julia Simon with Fabien Claude for France, Tommaso Giacomel with Dorothea Wierer for Italy and Anton Dudchenko with Yuliia Dzhima for Ukraine.
It should be noted that Tommaso Giacomel and Anton Dudchenko replace respectively Lukas Hofer and Dmytro Pidruchnyi who are injured and not in the best of physical condition.
