The 2017 edition of Frassinoro Summer Biathlon Festival begins to take shape, which for the first time in history will be held in Carnia Arena by Forni Avoltri. The event, scheduled from July 14 to 16, features great names of the present and of the past. In the biathlon, but not only.

In fact there is the presence of all biathletics of senior Italian teams. So will be part of the match Dorothea Wierer, Dominik Windisch, Lisa Vittozzi, Lukas Hofer, Federica Sanfilippo, Giuseppe Montello, Alexia Runggaldier, Thomas Bormolini, Nicole Gontier, Thierry Chenal, Luca Ghiglione, Andreas Plaickner, Saverio Zini, Paolo Rodigari and Ginevra Rocchia.

Not just biathlon, though. There will also be ample space for a cross-country skiing amarcord with the presence of seven Olympic champions. In fact, the four components of the 1994 Lillehammer gold medal - Maurillio De Zolt, Marco Albarello, Giorgio Vanzetta, Silvio Fauner - will be on the spot, with Giorgio Di Centa, Pietro Piller Cottrer and Gabriella Paruzzi.
In this sense, you are also trying to organize an exhibition that will confront a biathlete, a fundraiser and a combattist. The last two are still to be defined, but - if the project were to come to fruition - it would be very top names.
There will also be room for solidarity. The organizers have decided to allocate some of the proceeds from the meals to the Gedama Onlus Foundation, which is collecting funds to support the medical care of Einar Carrara, the unlucky Italian ex-biathlete forced into the wheelchair due to an on-site accident Working in December 2014.
In terms of food, one should not forget how the Antique Sapori company, a high quality pasta manufacturer, will be at the side of the event just as it did in 2015, providing premium prizes with its products to the winners.
Among the weekend events is also the presence of President Fisi Flavio Roda, who will officially inaugurate the Carnia Arena as the new federal federation for nordic skiing and biathlon.
