This afternoon the Garmisch ski club announced the cancellation of the town's biathlon festival, scheduled for December 29th.

Although the organizational machine had been in action for a couple of months, the organizers of Germany's second most popular biathlon event, won last year by Alexia Runggaldier and Dominik Windisch, had to raise the white flag. In Garmisch, in fact, at the moment there is no snow and high temperatures (no significant drops are expected until December 26th), they do not allow to produce the snow needed to bring the great champions of the discipline to the city center. To best prepare the route, at least 450 cubic meters of snow are needed and today there is no appeal for 300. All efforts are now focused on preparing the Große Olympiaschanze, a springboard that will host the second stage of the Tour from December 31st. of the four trampolines.
