Eduard Latypov tested positive for the anti covid test on the eve of the German weekend in Oberhof. A bad blow after the Russian biathlete from Grodno was the author of two podiums in Le Grand Bornand last month. "Latypov has already been isolated from the rest of the team and is asymptomatic," said the Russian biathlon team. Fortunately, the rest of the team is currently negative.
Latypov will undergo a second swab the same day, having tested negative for two previous rapid swabs. In the evening it will be known whether or not he will be able to participate in the Oberhof weekend, starting on Friday with the Sprint. It remains to be seen whether close contacts will have to go into isolation; according to what reported on twitter, the IBU carried out 250 swabs in Oberhof in recent days and all team members tested negative.
