The wait is almost over and in less than 48 hours the biathlon world championships will start in Sweden. The inaugural race will be the Mixed Relay on Thursday 7 March, where Italy will already have podium ambitions.

The event will close instead Sunday, March 17, when the two departures are scheduled in line. As usual, all the races will award World Cup points. Italy presents itself at the appointment with the possibility of a medal in both men's and women's fields. Lisa Vittozzi and Dorothea Wierer will also have to think about the general classification, where they currently occupy the first and second positions.
In addition to the two champions, the technical director Fabrizio Curtaz has also called Nicole Gontier, Federica Sanfilippo and Alexia Runggaldier. These three will play the remaining bibs for the female relay. As for the men's sector, Lukas Hofer, Dominik Windisch, Thomas Bormolini, Giuseppe Montello and Thierry Chenal will be present.
