The withdrawal of the competitive spirit, at 29, of the winner of the General World Cup in the 2015/16 season, as well as two world titles and two Olympic silver medals, is official; the last two seasons in the pits, between various physical problems and the lack of motivation with the passage of time, despite some return plans even after missing the PyeongChang 2018 Games, they brought Koukalova to this decision.
"It was not an easy choice for me, but I decided to end my sporting career because I am convinced that it is time to move on to another phase of my life, which I can't wait to open - the words of Gabriela - Biathlon has been an integral part of my life and I want to remember the good old days forever: at the same time I feel particularly thankful to my parents for their enormous support and the sacrifices they have made since my childhood, and obviously my husband Peter, always by my side, especially in difficult times â€.
