The former Norwegian biathlete, retiring at the end of last season, and his partner Samantha Skogrand will become parents for the first time.

The same news was given by Svendsen last Friday, through an instagram post. "A wonderful summer is over - wrote Emil - but me and Samantha Skongrad can not wait for the winter to come ... because we will become parents for the first time". The couple, engaged since December 2016, had initially scheduled the wedding for summer 2017, but was postponed to 2019 to allow Emil to focus 100% on the Pyeongchang 2018 Olympics. Both are very popular at home, since since Samantha has been a well-known face of Norwegian TV and now runs a radio program on Radio Norge.
