From January 3 to 5 will be staged in Oberhof, Germany, the fourth leg of the World Cup in 2013 - '14. In this location the event will be presented only as regards the male sector. For the presentation of the women's competition can be found at THIS LINK.

Oberhof has made its appearance in the major circuit in 1984, hosting the best circuit in the two subsequent seasons. There was a pause of five years after which the location of Thuringia has entered the calendar of the World Cup in alternate years.
'' With the advent of the twenty-first century, Oberhof is instead become a fixture finding its natural place as a first step of January (except for 2003 -'' 04, the year in which they competed in February to accommodate World Cup which, however, might come again at the end of this decade or'' at the beginning of the next).
So far in Oberhof 46 men's races were sailed individual first-level (6 twenty kilometers, 21 sprints, pursuits 9, 10 mass start), four of which with iridescent value (one for each format in 2004).
There are 26 athletes with at least one win. Amongst them Ole Einar Bjoerndalen, able to impose itself on 9 occasions, and Raphael Poirée (6 accomplishments, including 3 gold iridescent). No other man has exceeded the threshold of 2 claims that, over the years, arrived in 8 including, but those who are in business, Tarjei Bø and Dmitry Malyshko.
Balza'' s eye as neither Martin Fourcade nor Emil Hegle Svendsen are still able to excel on these nevi. The Norwegian has a second and four third places, while French is not incredibly never even been on the podium!
In terms of countries, Norway has 12 victories, but Russia following close behind with 11. There would also be 12 German successes, but obtained with three different flags (7 after the fall of the Berlin Wall, whereas previously it had arrived three statements of East Germany and West Germany 2). France has risen to the top step of the podium 7 times. The rest of the world has picked up very little as there is a victory of the Soviet Union, Italy, Poland and Austria.
The Italian success is dated in the individual'' on 19 January 1995 and bears the signature of Wilfried Pallhuber. There are also three third places won by Pier Alberto Carrara (individual January 1991), Andreas Zingerle (sprint February 1991) and Rene Laurent Vuillermoz (sprint January 2007).
